
'Bushcrafters'
We were excited to visit the Bushcraft Area this week! The children were asked to collect sticks and acorns so collectively, we could build a 'Hedgehog House'. Mr Earle asked the children to look out for some sticks that had a 'V' shape at the end and they were very good at this! We had fun exploring our new surroundings and we look forward to our second visit on Monday afternoon. The sunshine has made an appearance again this week so we have made the most of being outside. Conkers!
The conkers we brought into nursery provided lots of learning opportunities this week, many of which were child initiated. Filling and emptying containers was a popular choice, as well as rolling, sorting and counting conkers. We heard some great mathematical language such as 'Big, small, round, heavy, more' etc. The weighing scales also prompted some good 'how?' and 'why?' questions. We also read the story of 'The Selfish Crocodile'. The children enjoyed the story and though
