Mother's Day 🌹🌷🌻
This week we thought about Mother's Day. We decorated plant pots using gold and silver pens and used our mark making skills to create beautiful patterns. We filled the pot with compost and planted two sunflower seeds. We will watch our plants start to grow at home. I wonder who's sunflower will be the tallest?! We also made cards for our Mummies and had a go at writing our name independently✍ . 📷😊 We hope you enjoyed watching your special video message on Tapestry?! We were

Home grown delights 😋
Last week we planted some cress seeds and watched and waited as they grew. The children were fascinated to observe the changes and growth over a very short period of time. It was even more exciting this week, when we were able to taste our home grown delights! The children tested out some new skills when making themselves a cress sandwich. Using a knife and buttering the bread proved tricky for some but our favourite part was "giving the cress a haircut" with scissors! Some e

Read, Share, Review & Red Nose Day
Thank you for coming to support our Read, Share, Review session on Tuesday. We were thrilled that all of our children had at least one adult attend! We hope you enjoyed your visit to Nursery and we look forward to the next one! Red Nose Day Thank you for supporting Red Nose Day by sending your children into school wearing brightly coloured clothes. Your generous contributions were much appreciated for this worthy cause.

Science week 🧪 .....and yoga 🧘♀️ 🧘♂️ !
We have had fun this week, exploring science in nursery. The children now think we all have “magic powers”! We started with the ‘skittles’ rainbow experiment. You can try this at home: 1) Arrange the skittles in a circle on a white plate. 2) Pour some warm water into the centre of the plate until it touches the sweets. 3) Wait and watch the ‘rainbow’ appear! The children were very excited about colour so we extended our learning by exploring colour mixing independently. We us

Humpty Dumpty, Pancakes & World Book Day!
What a busy week we've had! We started the week with a new nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty. We used soft bricks to build a wall for Humpty Dumpty. Who could build the tallest wall? How could we build a strong wall? We had great fun trying to knock him off the wall outside by throwing a ball at him! We also used positional language to describe where Humpty was sitting in relation to the wall: 'behind', 'in front', 'beside' etc. We read the story of Mr Wolf's Pancakes on Shrove Tu

Mary, Mary..
This week we have been learning our new nursery rhyme, 'Mary, Mary, quite contrary'. The children used their funky fingers to fill pots with compost. They used tweezers to "rescue" the insects or count out pom poms. We talked about who had 'more and less' and recognised when we had 'the same'. ------------------------------------ The weather has been amazing!! It really did feel like summer at the beginning of the week so we took our learning outside and had fun mark-making w
