As always, it has been a very busy week in The Ark! We were very excited to see our caterpillars, Dave, Nate, Pat, Taylor and Peter Andre were and were surprised at how big they were already! We started the week (and most sessions) looking at our 'babies' and passing them carefully around, being gently and looking with awe and wonder as they moved! The shock of the 'frass' (caterpillar poo!) that had begun to appear by the end of the week was a huge delight and shock too 🤣 S
This week we have learnt about bees... mainly Honey Bees but none the less all has been buzzing and busy! We are very fortunate to have burrowing bees which live close to the nursery so we have gone out to watch them and this has dispelled some myths of bees (e.g. they all live in hives, they will hurt you if you are nearby). Well Spring has sprung 🌼🌷🌺 and then we have had some wintery blasts, but that is not enough to dampen our smiles as we all returned back to The Ark after a refreshing Easter break! The children were given the optional Home Learning task of creating their own Easter Bonnet and parading at home so that they could be entered into our Virtual Easter Bonnet Parade. Those "silly germs" may have tried to stop all the fun, but not here in The Ark...we just did things differently!
