This week, we read the story of 'What the Ladybird Heard' by Julia Donaldson. We acted out the story using stick puppets and played ‘night sounds music’ as we tip-toed around quietly, pretending to be Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len.
The children were very interested in the idea of a map and many children chose to draw their own map and hide 'treasure' around nursery!
We used a large tin of buttons ('treasure') to decorate the ladybird with 'spots'. We tried to count them and guessed who had 'more' or 'less' buttons. Some children explored sorting the buttons according to size, colour, and texture.
We were excited to notice that our radishes have grown, as have most of our vegetables...thanks to plenty of rainwater in recent days! Hopefully they will soon be ready to harvest!
