We are back after what appears to be lots of fun-filled half-term adventures! And even better, not many tears given our late start into Nursery. This was helped with photos on Tapestry of all our holiday adventures which we have enjoyed sharing; from pumpkins to baking to Halloween costumes and trips to the park.
This week we are still gathering Baseline assessment data with activities relating to scissor skills and fine motor skills. We have also begun to make our clay hands for Christmas following an extremely popular charity fundraising activity in leu of this year's Christmas Fayre 😪
Here is a sneak peak of one thing our pennies have bought... once we have more pennies we will begin investing in some more (or bigger) items!
This week we also had our individual school photos taken by the photographer. We all looked gorgeous and gave our best smiles. Please can orders come in swiftly (as you will then save on the postage and packaging)! Thank you!
On Monday we had our first Bushcraft session of this half term with Mr Earle. We had lots of fun building a den and swinging form the initial structure of just THREE branches!
This week we have touched on Remembrance Day in preparation for Wednesday 11th November. We looked at the CBeebies two minute cartoon 'Poppies' and talked in an age-appropriate way about what happened in the film. We then went to see Mr Young's new memorial bench and counted the poppies on the bench. Once back inside, we began making our contribution for the memorial event next week...this is top secret until next Wednesday! We also made our own poppies which we have taken home to remember those brave soldiers who have kept us safe.
Today we have been watching firework displays on the interactive whiteboard and exploring some firework based art! Stay safe everyone but also have fun watching your fireworks!
Please can all children carry their water bottle into the cloakrooms as opposed to it being within their bags. This helps make your child more independent in preparation for "Big School" and greatly helps staff as normally there are just two of us and LOTS of fun to be had (instead of hunting for bottles).
Here is a reminder with Mr Wrinkles' special video...
