And the winners of the Virtual Easter Bonnet 2021 are...

Well Spring has sprung 🌼🌷🌺 and then we have had some wintery blasts, but that is not enough to dampen our smiles as we all returned back to The Ark after a refreshing Easter break! The children were given the optional Home Learning task of creating their own Easter Bonnet and parading at home so that they could be entered into our Virtual Easter Bonnet Parade. Those "silly germs" may have tried to stop all the fun, but not here in The Ark...we just did things differently! This little challenge has also kept many little fingers busy over the hollibobs and created lots of excitement about returning to Nursery.

Here is our Virtual Easter Bonnet Parade... Which hats do you like best? How would you make yours?

And here are our winning pair! Mrs Robson and Mrs James, our wonderful admin staff for the whole of Homefield Primary, are our official judging panel and they came over especially to present the eggs to their chosen winners, Entry 2 and Entry 13. Congratulations πŸŽ‰

This half term we are learning about minibeasts! This has been met with amazing enthusiasm and passion already (and it is only Day 4)! This week we have focussed our attention to the amazing ladybird!

We have been out and about hunting for minibeasts! We have found worms, slugs, ladybirds and woodlice.

We even found a headless bee and talked about how a predator like a bird or spider, may have eaten part of the bee for his tea!

We have looked at the lifecycle of a ladybird and watched a sped-up video of how the ladybird lifecycle works.

We have been using our counting skills to clip ladybird pegs to green lolipop leaves/stems and we have been painting ladybirds at the easels. Did you know that there are 5000 different species of ladybird!

What a busy week!

Don't forget that our waiting lists are always available should you wish to put your child's name down for the future. We are a one-intake Nursery so all the children start at the beginning of the academic year (generally) and we take children who are aged three-years old/ four years-old in the year before they start Reception. Please call the office if you need more details.

Have a great weekend!
